Autumn Aesthetic

It has been for as long as I can remember having a favourite season, although there was definitely a lot of ‘back to school’ excitement connected with it. But even though I’m out of school, and have been for a *cough* few years, there’s still nothing that quite fills me with excitement as the temperatures starting to cool (but not yet getting cold), the leaves changing colour and the nights starting to draw in. Pumpkin Spice season is upon us!
I always loved the harvest festival as a child, brought up as I was in the Church Of England. There’s a wonderful sense of giving thanks and yummy foods – especially apples and pumpkins. But there’s also Bonfire Night and Diwali and Samhain and Halloween.
The world turns so pretty, with shades of orange, yellow and red everywhere you look. There’s a crispness to the air that’s perfect for snuggling up in warm woolly sweaters or under a warm blanket, with a mug of coffee, some baked treats, and a good book. Plus those darker nights are made for filling the rooms with candles, lanterns and fairy lights. Sometimes I’ll cast a video of a warm fire crackling onto the tv, since my flat doesn’t have an actual fireplace
I also get to wrap up in warm clothing. Oversized sweaters, jeans, and boots are very much my favourite style, and I’ve recently fallen in love with overalls/dungarees. And any excuse for a comfortable flannel shirt, right?
